WOMO is a social live-streaming platform that connects millions of young people around the world. Our objective is to provide a safe and trusted space where all users can have a positive and respectful experience on WOMO. Protecting our users and their privacy is our top priority.

This is why we only use your personal data to improve your experience on the platform or to send you information about WOMO. Therefore, we promise to use your personal data only in the use of the platform and to send you information about WOMO. You can be assured that we will never provide or sell your personal data to anyone, especially advertisers.

When the users are using Facebook/Google and other platforms to authorize login, we may obtain user data including but not limited to user avatar, nickname, email address, etc. This information will be used to generate the user's profile. After entering WOMO, users can modify or delete personal information in the personal center. At the same time, we provide the function of deleting the account. Users can delete the account and all related data through Personal Center - Settings - Delete Account. We comply with relevant laws and regulations to ensure that user data will not be retained and used for other purposes.

In our Privacy Policy you will find all the information you need about how we process users’ personal data. Please read carefully and remember that it applies every time you use WOMO.

When you use the WOMO App ("WOMO") or any WOMO Team ("WOMO") website, content, service, app or product (the above services and the WOMO App constitute the information we collect about you ("Personal Data") "Services" ). This means data that allows you to directly identify yourself, such as your last name, first name or your image, or indirectly identify you, such as your password, phone number or your browsing or session data .

 

1. Who is responsible for the processing of your personal data?

We released the WOMO app, a social network that allows you to make friends and chat with them, especially through live video.

 

2. What data do we collect?

In order to operate the Services, we collect

(i) Data you provide directly to us

Registration data: To be able to use the WOMO App, you must create an account and provide us with the following personal details:

Your mobile phone number (not shared with other users)

Your name and alias (visible to other users)

Your date of birth: Other users will be able to see your age, but not your full date of birth.

Your gender: You can choose to specify it or not. You can choose whether to reveal your gender to others.

Password that enables you to log in to your account is not visible to other users and you should not share your password with other users.

All of the above information is mandatory in order for you to create a profile and register on the WOMO app.

You can fill in other parts of your profile (emoji, social networks, emails) if you want. This information is optional.

 

Data about your interactions with the WOMO App: If you report a problem to us, request assistance or exercise your rights, we will process the information you provide to us.

In addition, if there is reasonable doubt about your age, we may ask you to verify your age and request the following information:

A copy of your ID card or school card (not shared with other users and deleted as soon as verified by our team).

A short video of you pronouncing 3 random words (not shared with other users, we only keep screenshots after team review).

 

Data about your location (geolocation): With your consent, we collect and process data about your location. Through the town/city you fill in your profile, you can see the posts sent by people in the same town/city as you in "Nearby", and you can add friends with him(her). By default, your city is hidden unless you change the settings to make it visible. If you no longer want us to know your location, just uncheck the relevant boxes in your account settings. As a result, we will no longer be able to display your town/city or suggest meetings with friends nearby.

 

Contextual data: Photos or videos you decide to upload to your profile will be visible to all users. Be careful what you share with others, don't forget that all users can save what you share, we can't stop this and are not responsible for any loss or damage related to this. When you use the Services, please be aware that other users can disable screenshots and screen recordings (images and videos) within the application, but other users can also take screenshots and screen recordings using tools on their devices over which we have no control , and therefore disclaims all liability for any loss or damage in connection with it. The same goes for the videos and comments you post through the WOMO App Live Video Service.

Messages exchanged between users will remain private and under no circumstances will we forward them to other users or third parties, except for judicial investigations and/or in accordance with existing laws and regulations.

 

Data about search preferences: You can configure privacy by going to Settings in your account. You can also use the filter function to choose to meet female friends, male friends, or both.

 

Camera and Photos: In order to be able to send and upload your photos from your camera, you must give us permission to access them.

 

(i) Data we collect automatically

Data about your activity on the Services: When you use the Services, we may collect and process information such as the date you registered, the date you last logged in, your interactions with other users and your posts.

 

Data About Devices and Hardware: We collect information from the devices and hardware you use to access the Services, such as your IP address, your device type, advertising identifiers (e.g., Google's AAID and Apple's IDFA, both of which are randomly generated numbers. You can reset by going to your device settings), app bugs, version and language, operating system, etc.

 

Face Geometry: We may process your face geometry when we have your consent or where permitted by law based on our legitimate interests (i) to estimate your age based on your profile photo, (ii) Authenticate based on identity documents (e.g. ID card or passport), and pictures or videos.

 

3. What are the legal reasons for our data collection?

When we collect and process your personal data, we may do so for the following reasons:

To enable you to access and use the Services: This effectively means that you are performing a contract we have with you, which is in compliance with our Terms of Service, which includes this Privacy Policy. For example, when you use the Services, we use your data to operate your account, make your profile accessible, refer friends to you, send your messages and content you share, live stream your videos, and recommend your use of the Services In other ways, WOMO Team's affiliates and entities that provide services to you or us.

For our legitimate interests: We may use your data if we have a legitimate reason to do so. For example, we process data for administrative purposes, to prevent fraudulent and illegal practices (eg: false age), and to ensure that the application remains secure.

With your or your legal guardian's consent: When we process data with your consent, you can withdraw such consent at any time by going to Settings or deleting your account.

 

4. How do we use the data we collect?

We collect, use and store your personal data as described in Section 2 of this Privacy Policy in order to process your requests, manage our relationship with you and your use of the Services, optimize the Services and tools to create and maintain secure environment, and to fulfil our legal obligations, as described below.

To manage our relationships and access to the Services

Create and manage your user account (including access to WOMO Services and Help);

Geolocate you to keep you connected with nearby friends;

manage and store messages exchanged between users who have become friends;

Where appropriate, show you offers and content that we think you will enjoy, especially when using certain paid services (for example, WOMO's "screening");

Send informational messages (notifications) about the Services and your interactions with other users, and inform you about the different ways you use the Services;

To improve the quality of our augmented reality experience, information from TrueDepth cameras is used in real-time. We will not store this information on our servers or share it with third parties.

 

5. Safety and performance of legal and contractual obligations

To respond to and comply with requests from applicable legal, administrative and judicial authorities, law enforcement and legal officials, and to comply with court decisions;

Identify and prevent fraudulent activity and threats to the security of the Services as required by law;

Analyze reports of users who violate our Terms of Service and/or our legal rights;

Improve the security of our services;

To enforce or defend our legal rights, including our rights under the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy;

To combat fraud (such as age-related), identify you, and combat any use of the Services that is illegal or violates our terms. We take steps to detect inappropriate content such as explicit language, emojis with hidden meanings, sexually explicit images (such as nude or underwear photos), gore, violence, terror, racism, extremism, drugs, self-harm, suicide, gambling, assault the rights of others, and other illegal or harmful content. Posting such content is against our Terms of Service and we may remove it and suspend or ban users who post such content.

 

6. How long will we keep your data?

You can delete your account at any time by clicking the relevant button in Settings. When you delete your account, you will no longer be able to communicate through the Services and your personal data will no longer be accessible.

We will only keep your personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the purpose for which we collected it, unless we are permitted or required by law to keep it longer. Generally, we will delete your personal data as soon as you delete your account unless:

We must retain it as evidence of our compliance with current law (for example, for five years of records of consent to our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and other similar consents);

We need this information to resolve disputes or to exercise or defend our legal rights;

We must retain data where it is in our legitimate business interests, such as to prevent fraud and to improve the safety and security of our users. For example, we may be required to retain data to prevent users who have been banned from opening new accounts due to illegal or dangerous conduct or security incidents.

If we check your age, we will delete your ID or school card immediately after verification and only keep a screenshot of the short video you send us.

Yoti Ltd. will delete it immediately. Personal data collected by our partner Yoti Ltd. for the purpose of estimating your age, in particular biometric data, we only store the estimates according to this section, but not biometric data.

 

7. Who has access to the data we collect?

We do not sell personal data. We disclose personal data as described below.

Our authorized employees may access and process your personal data as necessary to provide services.

Share what you direct and control. Share content and information about yourself if necessary to the Service. When you post through the Services, send messages to your friends, or otherwise communicate through the Services, we share your personal data in accordance with your account settings.

Service provider. We may share all types of personal data described in Section 2 of this Privacy Policy with service providers to help us operate and improve our Services. For example, we may use service providers to host personal data and/or services; research or analyze the use and/or operation of services; detect and mitigate fraud or abuse of services; and provide assistance requested by users.

Change of ownership. If we are involved in bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization or asset sale, we may sell or transfer your personal data as part of that transaction. This Privacy Policy will continue to apply to personal data transferred to the new entity.

Subcompanies. We may also disclose your personal data to our affiliated corporation to help operate the Services.

8. Will your data be transferred outside your country?

In order to process your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy, this data may be transferred to one or more other countries, which may or may not be in your country.

We use technical and organizational measures to protect personal data from loss, misuse, alteration and deletion again.

As mentioned above, your data is processed with your consent, which you can revoke at any time by going to Settings.

You also have the right to give instructions on how your personal data will be used after your death.

In order to exercise your rights, we may ask you to provide additional information to confirm your identity.

We will do our best to accommodate your request, but do not forget that this right is not unlimited and must be exercised under the conditions of existing legislation. Any requests to exercise your rights should be justified. If necessary, we will explain why we are unable to accommodate your request. If applicable, we may also charge a fee to cover the necessary costs for requesting a review or obtaining a copy of personal data.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of the rights described in this section. However, refusing or restricting the use of your personal data in whole or in part will affect the way you register and use the Services. Therefore, we may not be able to provide you with some or all of our services after you have made certain requests.

Content removal for users under 18. If you are a California resident and under the age of 18, you may request removal of your postings by sending an email to [email protected] All requests state "California Removal Request" in the email subject line and provide a content description sufficient for us to locate the content. We do not accept removal requests made by other measures. If you do not provide sufficient information about the content you want to remove, we may not be able to respond, and we may not remove the content if it complies with applicable law (for example, if the content is posted or shared by a third party).

Do not track. California residents only, we do not respond to "do not track" signals your browser may send us.

11. Children and our services

Our services are not directed to children under 13. If you are between the ages of 13 and 17, we may ask your parent or legal guardian to consent to your use of the Services. We do not knowingly sell personal data of users under 16.
